PARENT INVOLVEMENT = A SUCCESSFUL BAND PROGRAM
As a Band Booster, we ask that you give your time & talent. The band needs alot of things that cannot be done by one band director! He needs supportive and dedicated parents to help him keep the band program running smoothly. Volunteers & chaperones must be approved by the county & school. Please click on the above volunteer file and fill out to be approved.
Easy ways for parents to help the band program:
1. Give your child support & encouragement for being in the band! Tell him/her how proud you are of what they are learning and how they are changing by being a part of the band!
2. When picking up your kids from band, leave your car and get to know the other band parents! Better yet, come early and watch your kids practice and socialize with other parents! Building relationships with other parents will benefit both you and your child.
3. Come to the Band Booster Meetings! Meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month @ 6:30pm in the band room during marching season. Your input is needed to help run our band program and you will always come away with information that your kids forgot to tell you!
4. Attend the football games and competitions! You may think your kids don't want you there, but believe me, they secretly do. It really helps them to look up in the stands and see that their family is there to support them. The band always performs better with a large crowd to cheer them on!
5. Become a volunteer or chaperone! Extra help is always needed, just fill out the volunteer form and be approved by the school.
6. Join the Pit Crew! Help is always needed to transport the band equipment on and off the field. WE also need volunteers to pull the band trailer. We usually need a second person with a trailer to help move everything especially to competitions and away games.
