BAND BOOSTERS
If you are a parent or guardian of a student who is a member of the Parkwood Band Program, you have the opportunity to serve as a member of the Band Boosters.
The Band Boosters are a group of parents, school staff and students that help in supporting the band program of Parkwood High & Middle Schools. The Boosters serve to a assist the program with fundraising, volunteering and supporting our students. This includes, but is not limited to:
OUR DIRECTORS
Mr. Archie Wallace
Mr. Wallace has been teaching band for 20 years. He has been with the Parkwood band program for 8 years. He served for 6 years as Assistant Director and 2008 he became became our Director. Before coming to Parkwood, he was the Director of Bands at Red Springs High School. Mr. Wallace received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 1990. In addition to teaching MR. Wallace has been a member of the Fayetteville Symphony, the Cape Fear Regional Community Band and various other performing ensembles throughout Eastern North Carolina. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity, Music Educator's National Conference,North Carolina Music Educators Association and South Central District Bandmasters Association. Mr. Wallace lives in Monroe, NC with is wife Kim. In his spare time he enjoys traveling, playing
golf and seeing good movies.

- Assistance during August Band Camp
- Assistance with any fundraisers
- Volunteering during Football Games
- Chaperoning for any trips (away games, competitions, etc.)
- Providing snacks and food
- Becoming an officer
- The Booster organization has obtained its non-profit 501(c)3 status. Monthly meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. The 2015-2016 Booster officers are:

Mr. Jon Sale
Mr. Sale graduated from Western Carolina University in May of 2013, and was hired
by Parkwood Middle School in the summer following as his first teaching
position. While attending WCU, Mr. Sale was involved with many of the
performing ensembles on campus, and won both of the Student Solo Competitions
at WCU. He was also a Staff Coordinator for the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band.
Away from Western, Mr. Sale is a well respected trombonist in Western North Carolina
and has performed with The Gentleman Brass Quintet, alongside the Smoky Mountain Brass Quintet, and in the
pit orchestra for the HART Theatre in Waynesville, NC. Also interested in Vocal
Music, he has performed with Shades of Purple--an all male, acapella ensemble
at WCU--and the Asheville Symphony Chorus. Mr. Sale is a member of the National
Association For Music Education, North Carolina Music Educators Association,
South Central District Bandmasters friends and family Association, and Phi Mu
Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity. He is a native of Bryson City, NC, where his parents
and siblings still reside. In his spare time, Mr. Sale enjoys traveling, hiking,
watching good movies, and spending time with his family.
